School 2.0 and Driving Range January UpdateThere's still time to stop all this!
Welcome to 2026!
We start the year with two proposals active over the golf course, "School 2.0" and a Driving Range / Entertainment Centre.
From what we can see, the 'School 2.0' proposal has not progressed since before Christmas. We are continuing to ask for consolidated feedback from the community information sessions and are keeping in touch with the Minister's office. We know that sightings of both koalas and kangaroos/wallabies have been recorded on the golf course in the last month. These have been forwarded to Three Plus and Council. Protection of wildlife is a major driver of our position, so thank you to those who have sent these through - keep them coming.
There has been some movement on the driving range / entertainment centre proposal, which is still before Council. You will recall that the DA was lodged on 25th July last year. Council sent out a detailed Information Request to the developer on 22nd August last with a due date of 22nd November. On 17th November the developer requested more time and the decision date was moved to 15th December. Council has issued additional information requests with a decision now scheduled for on or before 27th February 2026.
Council has confirmed that the traffic, lighting and acoustic (noise) reports are being 'peer reviewed'. Council issued another information request regarding stormwater management on 9 Jan 2026. These are topics of concern for us all, especially those closest to the proposed driving range area. We appreciate council's diligence in reviewing this proposal.
For those wanting to read the detail, all documents and submissions can be accessed via Council's Development Application tracker website here: DA/2025/3488. There are responses from the Developer on lighting and acoustics - worth a look.
We will keep an eye out for the peer review results and any change to dates.
There have been 215 community submissions to date - thank you everyone! Most importantly, we can confirm that submissions can still be made and will be taken into account, so there is definitely still time to have your say. Please email your submissions to council@moretonbay.qld.gov.au; make sure to include "DA/2025/3488" in the subject of your email.
We hope this update has been helpful. If you have friends or neighbours who are able to help, please encourage them to do so. It's very important we speak loudly and clearly on this!

Thanks once again for your support! We will be back in touch again as we get more information. Please stay strong and remember - there are still major concerns about the driving range proposal. The school was rejected only 4 years ago and from what we can see 'nothing's changed'!
